Arsenal are one of a number of clubs reportedly interested in taking advantage of Manchester United’s failure to agree a new deal with Angel Gomes this summer – and fans of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have reacted to the reports on Twitter.

Gomes, 19, is out of contract this summer despite his enormous potential. The England Under-20 international has broken into the senior United side 10 times throughout his career – six of which have come this time around.

The Daily Mail claim United have set a deadline to extend Gomes’ current deal. They want to see him sign on the dotted line before May 21, or will wave goodbye to the talented teenager – who Cristiano Ronaldo once reportedly wanted at Real Madrid.

Arsenal are interested in organising a compensation package for Gomes, with English clubs having to pay a lot more for players under the age of 23 who have been produced in an English academy. Foreign clubs, though, can land Gomes on the cheap.

The report claims Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund and Inter Milan are all keeping tabs on the situation surrounding Gomes. Bukayo Saka of Arsenal is in a very similar situation, with his current deal due to expire at The Emirates.

Many Manchester United fans have responded on Twitter to the news that Arsenal are interested in signing Gomes this summer as doubts continue to grow over his future – and many are happy to see the back of him.
