Report: Manchester United make their move for 'fantastic' Arsenal target
Manchester United have made their move to try and former City winger, Leroy Sane, according to a report from The Mirror this weekend.
Sane is said to be one of the players Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is considering signing. It’s been suggested that while a deal to bring Sane to north London is difficult, the German is a player who Arsenal would like to bring in if they can this summer.
Respected Arsenal journalist Charles Watts also stated how he thought Sane would be a ‘fantastic’ signing for the Gunners. But with United apparently now making an enquiry about Sane to Bayern Munich, Arsenal’s chances of landing the speedy winger have another blocker in the way now.
Sane only played just over 20 games last season for Bayern and it’s expected that Sadio Mane’s arrival will further impact the German’s game time. Sane moved back to Germany after an electric few seasons with Manchester City, and has won countless titles in his young career already.
Now 26, Sane is keen to get back to playing regular first-team football as quickly as possible. And with United yet to really light up the transfer market this summer, Sane could well be an ace in the pack for new boss Erik ten Hag.
TBR’s View: Sane Would Shine For Arsenal And Man United
There is no doubting Leroy Sane’s quality and it’s easy to see why Manchester United and Arsenal might want him.
He was brilliant at times for Manchester City and while last season wasn’t his best in Munich, he’s still delivered more or less every season he’s been involved in.
Sane’s speed, touch, and directness out wide makes him a fine signing for most teams. Certainly, he’d fit in well with Arsenal and United, who are both still active in the market this summer.
