Bayern Munich star and long term United target Thomas Muller has hit out at coach Carlo Ancelotti over his reduced amount of game time ahead of the Christmas break, sparking speculation that he could leave the Allianz Arena. He told Bild:
“The last game against Leipzig was not optimal for me personally, since I did not play. There was more space than in the games before. It was a game I could have enjoyed. Of course, I’m not sitting there with a grin on the bench.”
The 27-year-old has struggled to fit into Ancelotti’s system and has started only 10 of 16 Bundesliga games so far this season, largely out of position on the right wing, with United possibly looking to capitalise if he is unhappy.
The Daily Mail believe that midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin could be set to leave Old Trafford with a £24 million fee agreed with Everton, as Jose Mourinho confirmed last night, saying:
“I spoke to (executive vice-chairman) Mr Woodward before the game — the situation is close. Morgan is probably going to Everton. I’m sad because I like him and he could be an option for us in a long season. But I’m happy for him because he wants to play and be an important player for the team. So I’m happy for a very good person, someone I only have good things to say about.”
The Frenchman has barely featured for the Red Devils this season and is now negotiating personal terms with the Toffees before a deal can be confirmed to see him leave the club.
Another man who could follow him out of the door is Memphis Depay, with the Mirror citing RMC Sport saying that Ligue Une club Lyon have been told that they must pay a fee of £15 million to sign the Dutchman this month.
That would represent an £11 million loss after only 56 appearances with seven goals and seven assists in two seasons.
