Manchester United and Everton target Donnarumma has reportedly come to a decision

Reported Manchester United and Everton target, Gianluigi Donnarumma, has apparently made his mind up about leaving AC Milan already.

The 21-year-old is apparently set to leave the Serie A giants. At just 21, Donnarumma is already into three figures in terms of appearances for Milan. He broke through as a teenager and has held the number one jersey ever since.

However, a report from La Gazzetta Dello Sport has claimed Donnarumma has already decided to leave Milan at the end of this season.

This, of course, opens up the door for either Everton or United to make their move.

But given both clubs have cemented number ones in Jordan Pickford and David De Gea respectively, it’s hard to see how a deal may well be struck.

There is, of course, the fact of Carlo Ancelotti being in charge at Goodison Park now. The Italian will be well aware of Donnarumma and, being an AC Milan legend, might well try to coerce the stopper to move to Merseyside.

That could, then, mean the end of the line for Jordan Pickford. The England man has been under pressure this season after a number of errors. Coincidentally, it is young Man United stopper, Dean Henderson, who is believed to be pushing him closest for the England number one jersey.

Sometimes in football, there comes a point where you just can’t miss out on someone. In the case of Everton, especially, it would appear to be the case with Donnarumma.

Ancelotti has been keen to stick by Jordan Pickford. He is a talented goalkeeper but has, as mentioned, made a few errors.

If Everton land Donnarumma it’s a no-lose scenario. They either get their number one for over a decade and someone who’s already world-class. Failing that, they more than likely sell him on in a few years for a profit.

Barring disaster, Gianluigi Donnarumma should go on to be one of the finest goalkeepers in recent times.

It is, therefore, a no brainer for United, and especially Everton, to be making their moves.
