The Sun report that Jose Mourinho is eyeing up a £60 million move for Tottenham duo Kyle Walker and Danny Rose. The two full-backs, both 26-years-old, have become key figures for their club and country as two of the Premier League’s best options in the wide positions in defence.
Mourinho is seemingly unconvinced by the likes of Luke Shaw, Matteo Darmian and Antonio Valencia and is looking to make the move, but faces a challenge from rivals Manchester City as Pep Guardiola desperately seeks to solidify his leaky back line after they have cost him numerous points already this campaign.
Going the other way could be Morgan Schneiderlin, who the Daily Star say will complete a move to Everton for a fee of £22 million this week. They do claim that West Brom have not yet given up hope of securing the Frenchman’s services, but the ex-Southampton man is said to be keen to move to Goodison Park.
What is clear is that an Old Trafford exit is likely, given that he has played just 11 minutes of Premier League football across three cameo appearances under Jose Mourinho this season in a disappointing campaign.
Another player who has had questions asked of his future after failing to establish himself as a first team player under the former Chelsea boss is Anthony Martial, and Goal claim that the deal to bring him to Manchester could be about to get even more expensive.
Currently on 23 goals for the club, when he reaches 25 the club will have to pay Monaco a further £8.5 million, and will have to repeat another payment of the same fee when he reaches 25 caps for France, with the winger currently on 15, which may only spur the club on to find an exit for the Frenchman if he can’t work his way back into the team.
