Angelino completed a permanent move to RB Leipzig from Manchester City over the weekend after initially joining the German side on loan in January 2020 – and City supporters have discussed his display against Liverpool.

The 24-year-old has agreed a deal that will see him sign a permanent four-year contract in the summer, having starred for Leipzig during his 48 league and cup appearances while on loan under Julian Nagelsmann.

Goal claim his transfer has cost £16million, and the transfer comes in the same space of time that sees Leipzig agree the sale of Dayot Upamecano to Bayern Munich. Angelino has starred for Leipzig since leaving City on loan.

Indeed, in his 48 games, he has had a hand in 25 goals from left-back – scoring nine and laying on 16 assists. His figure is somewhat of a bargain and certainly on Tuesday night, he was probably Leipzig’s best player.

Indeed, Stephen Warnock told BBC Live that Angelino provided Leipzig’s “biggest threat” though Liverpool secured an excellent 2-0 away win thanks to second-half efforts from Sadio Mane and Mo Salah.

Manchester City supporters reacted to Angelino’s performance on Twitter after and during the match – and many have questioned the decision to sell him, while others have applauded him for his display.
