Manchester City round-up: Toure could snub deal; striker dismisses United move; youngster settles contract dispute

According to reports in The Sun today, Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure could be set to turn down the offer of a contract extension amidst interest from fellow Premier League rivals.

Reports claim that recently promoted Brighton and Newcastle are both considering a shock move for the experienced 33-year-old – who will become a free agent in the summer – to bolster their squads.

Toure was outcast from the City side earlier in the season after falling out with manager Pep Guardiola, but has since played an integral part in their top-four push, making 27 appearances.

It is believed that Toure is set to enter talks with agent Dimitri Seluk and the club over a potential new deal – but if there’s no promise of regular football next season it could pave the way for an exit.

Toure is allegedly not interested in listening to big-money offers after turning down a £250,000-a-week deal in China in January, and instead will prioritise spending another two years in the Premier League.

Meanwhile, the Ivorian’s Manchester City teammate Sergio Aguero has reportedly rubbished claims that he’s interested in a move to fierce rivals Manchester United over the upcoming window.

The Sun had reported last week that the Argentine had been gathering interest from Jose Mourinho’s side, but new reports have emerged claiming that Aguero would never entertain the idea of a move.

The Daily Mail have reported that the 28-year-old wouldn’t want to tarnish his reputation amongst the Manchester City fans by moving to Old Trafford, whilst City would never sell to their near rivals.

Aguero is likely to be playing second-string to 19-year-old Brazilian Gabriel Jesus next season if he remains at the Etihad, despite scoring 18 times for the Citizens this year, and it is reported that both Paris Saint Germain and Real Madrid are set to pounce should the Argentine’s future lie elsewhere.

According to Goal, 19-year-old centre-back Tosin Adarabioyo is on the verge of agreeing a new contract at Manchester City after settling a dispute over a new deal.

It had appeared that the youngster was on his way out of the club this summer after a contract stand-off, but reports now suggest that Adarabioyo has agreed on a £25,000-a-week extension.

The teenager’s representatives had been unable to agree on a wage-structure over recent months but it is claimed that a breakthrough was made prior to City’s demolition of Crystal Palace last week.

Despite being touted as the next rising star out of the club’s academy system, Adarabioyo hasn’t made a first-team appearance since December and has struggled for opportunities under Guardiola.

But it is believed that the Spaniard sees him as part of his future plans and will bleed him into the current City side more during next year’s Premier League campaign.
