According to reports coming from France over the weekend, it is now thought that Ligue One giants Paris-Saint Germain have made a sensational move to steal Dani Alves away from Manchester City.
It was reported just a few days ago, by The Sun, that the veteran right-back is poised to join up with former boss Pep Guardiola again in time to jet off for City’s pre-season tour of America in a few days.
But L’Equipe – on their television channel – have now claimed that the 34-year-old has agreed a deal with PSG and will snub Manchester City’s interest.
Despite not having a written news story on the L’Equipe website, an article in The Sun earlier on Sunday afternoon has displayed a screenshot of the news breaking on the TV show about a potential steal.
Meanwhile, the Manchester Evening News have also led with the French outlet’s story.
Alves spent last season with Italian side Juventus, helping them win the Serie A title and reach the Champions League final, before he made an agreement with the club to let him leave this summer.
Meanwhile, the Mirror have alleged this afternoon that Arsenal will finally allow their talisman Alexis Sanchez to leave the club for Manchester City on one condition – that they fork out £80 million.
It is understood that the Citizens are in the midst of preparing an offer in the region of £50 million for Sanchez, who has a year left on his contract at the Emirates, but the Gunners have set their price and won’t budge.

Unnamed sources close to the 28-year-old Chilean forward have claimed that Sanchez has now admitted that he wants to leave this summer, and that it’s between Arsenal and City to strike a deal.
Arsene Wenger has remained adamant – as reported by the Daily Mail – that he wouldn’t sell him to a direct Premier League rival, but it seems that his resolve is beginning to crack as pre-seasons nears.
Sanchez was a stand-out player in a generally disappointing season for Arsenal, being directly involved in 45% of the Gunners’ Premier League tally as they finished fifth, scoring 24 times and assisting 10.
Lastly, reports coming from Spain over the past day have claimed that Manchester City are currently in a race with Europe’s top clubs to sign Real Sociedad’s impressive centre-back Inigo Martinez.
Marca claim that City – along with Juventus, AC Milan, Barcelona and rivals Liverpool – have all shown interest in the 26-year-old, with one unnamed team already undergoing talks with his agent.
Despite returning to pre-season training with the La Liga outfit earlier this week, it is understood that all interested parties are willing to meet his release clause of £26.5m to tempt him into leaving.
It is thought that Real Sociedad – who awarded Martinez a new contract last April – turned down the chance to increase his release clause; a move that could come back to hurt them if he leaves.
The Spanish international has only ever player for Sociedad, going through the ranks in their ‘B’ team before joining up with the first-team in 2011, and over six years he’s amassed 223 La Liga appearances.
