According to reports in The Times this weekend, Paris Saint-Germain are allegedly preparing an offer of around £60million to try and tempt Manchester City forward Sergio Aguero away from the Etihad.

It is believed that the French giants are looking to exploit the difficult relationship that has developed between the Argentine and new boss Pep Guardiola this season and bring him to France.

The 29-year-old was dropped from the starting line-up once promising young Brazilian Gabriel Jesus joined up with City in January and this has led to a strained relationship with the ex-Barcelona man since.

The report claims that PSG are willing to offer him £220,000-per-week as they look to reclaim their Ligue One title from Monaco next season, and they’ve outlined Aguero as their big signing.

Yet despite these reports, Aguero commented back in June – as reported by Chinese outlet Xinhua – that he’s content seeing his current contract at City out until 2020, focusing on his time in England.

Despite his battle with Jesus to be Guardiola’s first-team striker, the Argentine still managed 20 Premier League goals in 31 appearances, ending the season as City’s top goal-scorer by 13 efforts.

Meanwhile, the Daily Mail has reported that PSG’s fellow French outfit Lyon have enquired about taking Manchester City defender Jason Denayer on loan next season.

The 21-year-old Belgian spent all of last season out on loan at Sunderland, unable to stop them dropping into the Championship, but it’s believed that Lyon are still interested in taking him on.

It is understood by the Mail that Lyon – who finished fourth in Ligue One and lost out to Ajax in the Europa League semi-finals – tried to bring him in two years ago but failed.

Denayer made 24 appearances for the Black Cats in the Premier League last season and was often utilised in a central role by manager David Moyes, but he has the versatility to play across the back four.

Aside from transfer talk, the Manchester Evening News has revealed that an injury picked up by Manchester City new boy Bernardo Silva whilst on international duty is not as bad as first feared.

The Portuguese midfielder – who was Pep Guardiola’s first summer addition in a £43million switch from Monaco – sprained his ankle whilst scoring against New Zealand in a 4-0 victory on Saturday.

He managed to play on for another eight minutes before being taken off at half-time but the midfielder has since alleviated worries with a tweet last night, saying:

“Thanks a lot for all your support messages. Everything is fine with my ankle.”

Silva is set to undertake further precautionary tests ahead of Portugal’s semi-final on Wednesday but it’s unlikely that the problem will serious enough to keep him out of City’s pre-season tour of America.
