According to reports in the Daily Mail this afternoon, Manchester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho has travelled to the King Power Stadium today to undergo a medical ahead of his move to Leicester City.

The 20-year-old has already agreed personal terms with the Foxes and it is expected that he will head to Leicester’s base at Belvoir Drive to complete the remaining formalities.

It is thought that a deal has been on horizon for a few weeks now, but a fall-out between the Nigerian’s previous agent and new representatives momentarily stalled advanced negotiations.

Despite enjoying an impressive breakthrough season in 2015-16, the arrival of Pep Guardiola last summer and the emergence of young Gabriel Jesus has seen Iheanacho fall down the pecking order.

And after managing just five Premier League starts last season, he’s taken the choice to move clubs.

In other news, Spanish side Sevilla officially announced the re-signing of ex-Manchester City midfielder Jesus Navas this afternoon in a statement on the Spanish outfit’s official club website.

The 31-year-old was part of Pep Guardiola’s mass clear-out at the end of last year, being released alongside the likes of Pablo Zabaleta and Gael Clichy, and he will re-join his old side on a four-year deal.

Navas featured 394 times across all competitions in his previous spell at the club, scoring 34 times across ten years, and he has become the second City man to make the switch to Sevilla this summer behind fellow Spaniard Nolito.

Despite spending four years in Manchester – appearing 183 times – Navas has struggled to get to grips with the Premier League and gradually fell out of favour at the Etihad, scoring just eight times.

It has been a day of departures as far as Manchester City are concerned as ESPN report that young trio Aleix Garcia, Douglas Luiz and Marlos Moreno have all been sent on a season-long loan to Spanish outfit Girona.

Brazilian midfielder Luiz recently arrived at the Etihad in a £10 million switch from Vasco Da Gama and is widely considered the next big thing to leave South America, and will gain useful experience in La Liga following Girona’s promotion to the top division last season.

Speaking of Luiz, City’s director of football Txiki Begiristain told the club’s official website:

“Girona will give Douglas the perfect opportunity to develop at the top level of the European game. We’re excited about seeing him develop in La Liga and send our best wishes to him.”

Luiz will be joined in Spain by Moreno, who spent last season on-loan at Deportivo La Coruna, and Garcia, who featured regularly in Guardiola’s first-team squad last year and made his league debut.
