Manchester City round-up: Arsenal forward ‘knows’ decision; right-back move edges closer; Mooy departs

Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez has dropped a huge hint over his future beyond this summer as the The Sun reported today that the Chilean knows what his next move is.

The Guardian had claimed, yesterday, that Manchester City were growing increasingly confident of securing a deal for the Gunners’ talisman in the next weeks, with Pep Guardiola set on signing him.

And when asked about his future in a Chile press conference, he said:

“I know what it is, but cannot say.”

The 28-year-old is currently on international duty as his Chilean side prepare for their Confederations Cup final date with Germany on Sunday, but it seems his future will become clear after this.

Meanwhile, City could be on the verge of securing their third signing of the summer as Sky Sports reported last night that Juventus have officially confirmed the release of their right-back Dani Alves.

It has been circulating over the past fortnight – as reported by Sky Sports themselves – that the Citizens are openly interested in signing the 34-year-old as they look to strengthen their defence.

And it’s understood that boss Pep Guardiola is more than keen on a reunion with Alves after their time spent together whilst at Barcelona, where they won two La Liga titles and three Champions Leagues.

A statement on Juventus’ official website said:

“Juventus Football Club is to part company with Dani Alves after agreeing to a termination of the player’s contract.

“Alves lifted two trophies in his single season in Turin, contributing to a third consecutive domestic league and cup double for the club before helping the team reach the UEFA Champions League final.”

With one player potentially on his way into the club, one is certainly on his way out as it was announced by BBC Sport this morning that midfielder Aaron Mooy has agreed to join Huddersfield.

The 26-year-old – who has never actually featured for the Citizens since signing from sister club Melbourne City last summer – spent last season on-loan at the Terriers and led them to promotion.

And Huddersfield boss David Wagner has wasted no time in snapping up the services of the Australian on a permanent basis, breaking the Yorkshire side’s transfer record in an £8million deal.

Mooy has recently returned from the Confederations Cup with Australia, crashing out in a group stage that contained Chile, Germany and Cameroon, and will join up with Huddersfield for pre-season.
