In one of the longest-running transfer sagas of the summer to date, the Independent have now claimed that Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez is trying harder to force a move to Manchester City.

Sources close to the news outlet believe that the 28-year-old – who only has one-year left on his current contract – is prepared to take a lower weekly wage than rivals clubs have now offered him.

The report claims that Arsenal would be able to offer him £300,000-a-week to remain at the Emirates for next season, but the Chilean is still refusing to enter negotiations with Arsene Wenger.

Some of Europe’s biggest sides have also shown interest this summer – as per Sky Sports – but it is understood that Sanchez will continue to hold out for his preference of a move to Manchester City.

In other news, reports stemming from Italy over the past day have suggested that Serie A giants Juventus are currently monitoring the situation of out-of-favour City defender Eliaquim Mangala.

Tuttomercato Web allege that the Old Lady are keeping tabs on the 26-year-old, who is not thought to be part of boss Pep Guardiola’s future plans at the Etihad, ahead of a potential move this summer.

The report claims that representatives of Juventus are already engaging in talks with people at Manchester City to try and push through a move – although it will come at a big loss for the Citizens.

Mangala arrived in Manchester for £42million three-years ago but, after making 64 appearances during that times, he was sent on-loan to Valencia last year and deemed surplus to requirements.

It is thought that the English side will be looking for a price in the region of €20million (£17.8million).

Aside from the speculation mill, the Manchester Evening News has revealed Manchester City’s new away kit during an unveiling in Los Angeles earlier today.

Leroy Sane, new signings Danilo and Ederson Moraes and highly-rated youngster Phil Foden – who impressed during a cameo appearance against Manchester United – all modelled the new design. The new ‘maroon’ strip will make its debut when City face Real Madrid on Wednesday.
