Allowed to influence the game from deep due to the presence of Jesus in the number nine role and got his joy drifting between Middlesbrough’s midfield and defensive lines. Marked his 250^th City match with a neat penalty and played a lovely chipped ball for the second.

Gabriel Jesus – 7

Making his first start since suffering a fractured metatarsal in February it was a frustrating match for the Brazilian, seeing little of the ball. Missed a glaring chance when he headed wide from six-yards out but made no mistake second time round with an excellent header late on.
