Vincent Kompany – 6

Not his finest performance since returning from injury, finding it tough up against former teammate Negredo, and didn’t look to be as sharp as normal in the back three.

Nicolas Otamendi – 6

Fortunate to escape with just a yellow-card after tugging back Traore but it was the resulting free-kick which eventually led to Boro’s second. Looked comfortable against the physical presence of Negredo up to that point but simply couldn’t cope with the pace of Traore.

Aleksander Kolarov – 6

Despite starting in a back three he never turned down the opportunity to press forward, playing positively on the ball and driving out of defence. Was defensively suspect however and failed to clear at the second and third attempt in the build-up to Chambers scoring for Boro.
