Manchester City have signed a player who's 'going to be a hit', says Jamie Redknapp
Manchester City newcomer Jack Grealish is “going to be a hit”, according to Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp.
The Citizens signed the England international for £100million at the start of August – the biggest deal in British football history.
Grealish joined on a six-year deal after City triggered his Aston Villa release clause.
The 25-year-old has made four appearances for Pep Guardiola’s side so far, including three in the Premier League.
And he has contributed one goal and one assist already, helping City run out 5-0 winners over both Norwich and Arsenal.
On Sky Sports, Redknapp named Grealish as one of his summer signings to watch, and has tipped him for huge success.
“Yes he has [already made an impact],” he said.
“It’ll be interesting to see how he keeps going now.
“They would have loved a striker in as well at Man City – Harry Kane.
“But I do think it’s more of a level playing field for City this year because they’ve got players who can play like him.
“They’ve got so many quality players in midfield that can play wide left, the likes of Sterling, Bernardo Silva, it is so interesting.
“He’s going to be a hit. I’m a massive fan of his. He’s a maverick, he’s a player you want to see.
“I would’ve loved to have played alongside a player like that the way he gets on the ball. He’s going to be a hit.”
