Manchester City fans wanted Pep Guardiola to make substitution on Tuesday night

Manchester City produced an excellent display to see off Wolverhampton Wanderers 4-1 on Tuesday night as Gabriel Jesus scored twice late on to secure all three points – but fans cannot understand a decision made by Pep Guardiola.

City dominated the entire first 45, as they stretched their lead at the top of the Premier League table. Going into the half-time break, Guardiola’s men looked good value for their 1-0 lead – thanks to Leander Dendoncker’s own goal.

But in the second half, Wolves rallied. Conor Coady scored his first ever Premier League goal for Wolves, and it took until the 80th minute for City to recover – eventually netting through Gabriel Jesus. He scored a second moments later.

It was 4-1 before the full-time whistle, as a mistake in the Wovles defence gave the on-fire Riyad Mahrez an easy chance to tuck the ball past Rui Patricio into the bottom corner. He duly obliged, and City have now gone 21 games without draw or loss.

City supporters, though, wanted to see Sergio Aguero. The 32-year-old has managed just 11 games this season, starting four – and is out of contract in the summer. Some fans wanted Guardiola to bring him on against Wolves, but he remained an unused sub.
