Harry Kane’s comments over the weekend has sparked the world of football rumours into a frenzy over his Tottenham Hotspur future – and even Manchester City fans have commented, urging their club to complete a player-plus-cash deal for Kane.
Kane, 26, told Jamie Redknapp on an Instagram Live interview on Sunday that the would consider an exit from Tottenham if he felt the club were going in the wrong direction. Last season’s Champions League finalists sit eighth in the Premier League.
I’ve always said if I don’t feel we’re progressing as a team or going in the right direction, then I’m not someone to just stay there for the sake of it,” Kane said, as quoted by Sky Sports. “It’s one of those things, I couldn’t say yes, I couldn’t say no.”
The Daily Mail report Manchester City see England captain Kane as a long-term replacement for Sergio Aguero, who turns 32 in June. However, nothing is concrete as of yet and Kane also did not rule out the possibility of seeing out his career at Spurs.
Meanwhile, according to the Express, Spurs and Arsenal are both keen on a deal for 25-year-old England international John Stones. Jose Mourinho has tried to sign ex-Everton star Stones numerous times, while in charge of Chelsea and Man United.
Now, he is keen on bringing the defender to Spurs – especially with Pep Guardiola’s City being linked with a move for Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci. It is believed City may want as much as £50million for their defender.
Manchester City supporters have put two and two together and suggested that the Premier League champions look to convince Spurs into a sale of Kane – by offering cash plus Stones.
