Manchester City could be about to lose one of their top coaches based off reports from Italy.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Manchester City U-23 boss Enzo Maresca is set to leave the club to join Italian side Parma as their new manager.
The Serie A side were relegated this season after finishing 20th in the table. Maresca, on the other hand, led Man City’s U-23 side to the Premier League 2 title.
Maresca will likely be following in the footsteps of former City coaches Patrick Vieira and Mikel Arteta. The duo both started their coaching careers with the Premier League before moving on to first-team management roles away from the club.

Yet for City supporters on social media, they were gutted to see Maresca leave the club after just one year. With some fans keen for the Italian coach to replace Pep Guardiola one day.
Here’s what some Manchester City fans had to say on Twitter about the news…

Maresca has previously held coaching positions at Sevilla and West Ham United. The 41-year-old has never managed at senior level, though.
