Manchester City fans take one ‘amazing’ positive after Champions League final loss

Manchester City had the chance to clinch greatness last night. But instead, it was Chelsea who wrote their name into the history books of the UEFA Champions League.

The west London side bested City again as Thomas Tuchel’s side won the biggest prize in European football. Kai Havertz’s first-half goal was all it took for the Champions League to return to the English capital for only the second time.

With City this season winning both the Premier League and the League Cup, there was a real sense in the air that glory would be theirs again in Porto. But Chelsea didn’t read the script, and played Pep Guardiola’s side off the park in convincing fashion.

This defeat will mentally torture City fans, players and staff members for months to come. But on social media, there was one positive that supporters had to cling on too despite losing one of their biggest games in recent history.
