Manchester City fans react to performance of Riyad Mahrez

Manchester City progressed to the semi-finals of the Champions League with a 2-1 win over Borussia Dortmund. After the game, supporters took to Twitter to rave about the performance of Riyad Mahrez.

The Citizens were made to work for their place in the last four and an early Jude Bellingham goal left City with plenty to ponder. Pep Guardiola’s team aren’t an ordinary animal though and came roaring back.

Mahrez tucked away a spot-kick to put City back in the ascendency before a late Phil Foden goal wrapped up the aggregate victory against formidable opposition.

The Algerian forward has now scored 11 goals during 2020/21 and is proving a decent player under Guardiola. His well-taken penalty ultimately swung the game back in City’s favour and his boss will be thankful.

It was a stunning team effort from City though and they will fancy their chances of reaching the final for the first time. Up next in the competition are PSG but on current form, you wouldn’t bet against the Citizens.
