Manchester City fans react to performance of Oleksandr Zinchenko against Liverpool

Manchester City flexed their title credentials with a comprehensive 4-1 thrashing of Liverpool at Anfield.

Ilkay Gundogan scored twice, with Raheem Sterling and Phil Foden also getting their names on the score sheet.

The Citizens were never really threatened by Liverpool who look a patch of the team who lifted the title last season.

Pep Guardiola’s men took full advantage though and were at their destructive best on Merseyside.

One man who was in superb form at Anfield was left-back Oleksandr Zinchenko.

The Ukrainian player did a superb job up against Mohamed Salah and deserved the praise he received afterwards on Twitter.

Zinchenko is starting to prove his worth at City and has played the last seven games in Guardiola’s team.

The 24-year-old signed for the Citizens from FC Ufa in 2016 and has played 82 times for the club.

He is coming of age of late and this performance at Anfield will go down as one of his better outings.

The player earns £65,000-a-week at City and after today’s game, he received a barrage of Twitter praise.
