Manchester City fans react as West Ham and Everton reportedly eye Tosin Adarabioyo

The race for Manchester City defender Tosin Adarabioyo is reportedly hotting up with Everton, West Ham, and Fulham all reportedly interested in signing the centre-back this summer – and City fans are happy to see him go.

Adarabioyo, 22, is highly-rated at Manchester City and impressed while on loan at Championship side Blackburn Rovers. He clocked up 35 appearances in all competions for the Lancashire side, even scoring three goals.

The England Under-19 international also spent time on loan at West Brom during 2018-19. Now, he has entered the final 12 months of his contract at Manchester City – and clubs are becoming interested in his signature.

The Guardian claim Fulham, West Ham and Everton all want Adarabioyo who has managed just eight senior appearances for Pep Guardiola’s side. Despite City still looking for a defender, it is clear he has no future at City.

It remains to be seen how much City would want if they were to sell Adarabioyo, though it is likely to be a small-ish fee given his current contract status. West Ham need a defender and are after James Tarkowski, while Everton need cover.

Pep Guardiola once gave a glowing verdict of Adarabioyo during an interview with Fox Sports in 2016: “He is fast, strong in the air, and has the quality to look forward behind the line for the next pass. He definitely has a future in the first team.”

Manchester City supporters reacted on Twitter to the reported news that Adarabioyo could leave the club with Premier League clubs interested in signing the defender – who can play at centre-back or at right-back.

Many are keen to keep him, while some are happy to wave goodbye.
