Manchester City fans react as they are linked with Tottenham midfielder Harry Winks

Tottenham midfielder Harry Winks is reportedly attracting interest from Manchester City – and some of their club’s supporters on Twitter have given a mixed response to the speculation.

According to the Sun, Man City manager Pep Guardiola is a big fan of the England international and the club are weighing up a £40million move for him.

The report explains that Spurs could allow their central midfielder to depart them if an offer in excess of £40million arrives, as they need funds if they want to make any big name transfers in this window.

Winks has become a mainstay for Spurs in the centre of the park during the past two years, with 41 appearances across all competitions in this 2019/20 season and he finished it strongly under manager Jose Mourinho.

The 24-year-old is a midfield operator that is great on the ball and tenacious in his tackling, which has seen him earn six senior England caps and also previously impress in European competitions.

Man City are a top-four club that finished second in the Premier League this season and have become a real force in recent years in English football, plus they are quarter-finalists still in the Champions League.

A selection of Man City fans on social media are intrigued by new reported target Winks, as they feel he’s someone with great potential and that he fits the Guardiola mould.

Meanwhile, there are others that aren’t convinced by the Spurs man, with one stating they wouldn’t pay over £10million for the £40million-rated target.
