Manchester City are reportedly set to prioritise signing attackers Gabriel Jesus and Raheem Sterling to new contracts before making a move for Tottenham striker Harry Kane.

Journalist Ian McGarry claimed on Reach PLC’s Transfer Window podcast that City are looking to tie Jesus and Sterling down to new long-term deals ahead of signing Kane, who is reportedly a target for the Premier League champions as reported by Fabrizio Romano.

City will be without club-record goalscorer Sergio Aguero next season with the Argentine attacker set to leave the Manchester club this summer after almost 10 years at the club. However, Pep Guardiola’s free-scoring side have found success without a recognised striker this season.

And City supporters on social media approved of the club prioritising signing Jesus and Sterling to new deals rather than trying to sign Kane this summer. The England captain is believed to be valued at around £180m according to the CIES Football Observatory via the Daily Star.

Kane is not the only striker who has been linked with a move to City. Erling Haaland has been hotly rumoured with a move to Guardiola’s side in recent weeks as reported by talkSPORT.
