Manchester City fans react as Everton reportedly eye Tosin Adarabioyo

Everton face an uphill battle trying to sign Tosin Adarabioyo if the Manchester City hierarchy rate the youngster as highly as some of the fans on social media.

The Sunday Mirror (9/8; page 65) reported at the weekend that the Toffees are interested in the centre-back.

The report claimed that Carlo Ancelotti viewed the 22-year-old as a potential cheaper alternative as he also considers moves for Kurt Zouma or Tyrone Mings.

Adarabioyo is yet to make his Premier League debut for Pep Guardiola’s men. But he has demonstrated his potential out on loan, having spent time with West Bromwich Albion and Blackburn Rovers.

He made 34 Championship appearances for Rovers last season. The Mirror notes that he is out of contract at the Etihad Stadium next summer.

But plenty of City fans are adamant that he should not be allowed to leave permanently during this window. They are optimistic that he has an incredibly bright future ahead, and they hope that he can feature in Guardiola’s plans this season.

Some have suggested that a loan move to Goodison Park could work for all parties. Adarabioyo can show that he is ready for top flight football, while City will surely benefit in the long-term if the youngster enjoys a good year on Merseyside.

But the City supporters have no interest in seeing Adarabioyo sold this summer.

Here is how some of the fans reacted to the links with Everton…
