Everton have reportedly added Real Betis manager Manuel Pellegrini to their summer shortlist. The ex-Manchester City and West Ham United gaffer is now a contender to replace Carlo Ancelotti at Goodison Park. The reports have prompted plenty of reaction from Manchester City fans on Twitter.
Pellegrini, 67, is currently contracted to La Liga side Betis and has guided them into an impressive sixth position in top tier of Spanish football. But of course, he has plenty of experience in the Premier League. During his time at Manchester City, he won 100 of his 167 games in charge.
What are Manchester City fans saying about Pellegrini at Everton?
A winner of the English title in 2013-14, Pellegrini then returned to English football with West Ham but struggled at the London club. The ex-Real Madrid manager could now come back to English football for a third time. The Daily Mail claim Everton have contacted Pellegrini’s representatives.
Manchester City fans have reacted on Twitter to the reports that Pellegrini could return to England, with Everton. Some want him back in England with Everton, while others joked that City will beat Everton with Pellegrini at the helm. One fan questioned why he’d swap Betis for Everton.
