Manchester City supporters have taken to social media following reports last night that the club are considering Declan Rice as a long-term replacement for club captain Fernandinho.
The Times report that West Ham could soon receive a bid for their defensive midfielder should Fernandinho decide to move on from City this summer, with the Brazilian international out on contract at the end of this month and Rice, who has been capped 15 times by England, continuing to shine for West Ham, who might qualify for Europe next season.

Competition for the Hammers midfielder will be fierce, though, with Manchester United and Chelsea also continuously linked with the England international, but for City fans on social media, they were eager for the club to make the first move and to approach West Ham for Rice.
Here’s what some City fans on Twitter had to say about last night’s news on Rice…

Rice has been influential for West Ham this season as David Moyes’ side inch closer to finishing in a European spot in the Premier League table, with City likely to wrap up the title this weekend should they get a result over Chelsea.
