Manchester City fans have given their reactions on social media to reports club could target defensive duo Jonny Evans and Caglar Soyuncu from Leicester City.
According to Sky Sports, the reigning Premier League champions are considering their options ahead of the January transfer window, with the Foxes duo on their shortlist.
Soyuncu has been a revelation this season for Leicester after replacing the departed Harry Maguire at the back.
The Turkey international signed in the summer of 2018 for £19 million (BBC Sport), but spent most of his time on the bench before getting his chance in 2019/20.
Evans also signed for Leicester for £3.5 million in 2018 (BBC Sport) and has been massively underrated during his time with the Midlands club.
The former Manchester United and West Bromwich Albion player is undoubtedly one of the most consistent centre-halves outside the traditional top six.
City’s apparent interest comes after the team’s early struggles in defence this season, with Aymeric Laporte out injured and Vincent Kompany no longer at the club.
Manchester City fans react
City’s reported interest in Evans and Soyuncu has largely prompted a positive response from fans online.
I definitely take Söyüncü but not keen on the Jonny Evans move at all.

Soyuncu would be a great fit alongside Laporte, get it done @ManCity

Won’t even laugh being linked to Jonny Evans.. he would actually do a better job than some of our defenders😭

I’ve said before that Evans fits Pep’s style like a glove. Two years ago I’d have bit your hand off for him, but that ship sailed when we signed Laporte.

They’re both very solid defenders and I’d welcome them both at City. Both better than Otamendi anyways
