Manchester City fans react as club are linked with transfer for Ligue 1 defender Clauss
Manchester City supporters have taken to social media following reports that the club are interested in RC Lens defender Jonathan Clauss, with Chelsea and Sevilla also said to be keen on the 28-year-old.
Kicker report that the fullback has attracted interest from the European giants following a breakout season with the newly-promoted Ligue 1 club this season, with Clauss hitting three goals and assisting a further six as Lens sit in sixth place in the French top-flight with one game of the campaign left to play.
Lens have had a fairytale season in their comeback season to Ligue 1, with the northern France club just one win away from qualifying for Europe, with Clauss playing a big role in their fortunes this campaign.
Yet City supporters on social media weren’t too convinced by the links to the French defender, who not too long ago was playing second-division football in Germany with Arminia Bielefeld.
Here’s what some City fans had to say about the rumours linking Clauss to the club for a summer move on Twitter…

Never seen him play but his club just came from Ligue 2 and are about to finish 6th in Ligue 1 so must be decent at least.

City are already well-stocked with right-backs heading into the summer window, with Kyle Walker and Joao Cancelo playing regular minutes under Pep Guardiola this season.
