Manchester City fans rave about Liverpool star after 2-2 draw at Anfield
Manchester City might have felt slightly aggrieved to leave Anfield with just a point – but City fans are in awe of Liverpool star Mo Salah on Twitter.
Salah, 29, took his tally to nine goals and three assists in nine games, with one of each on Sunday. He was sensational once again, during the 2-2 draw.
Against the run of play, Liverpool took the lead through Sadio Mane – but Salah was the architect. On the break, Salah drove forward.
Running past Joao Cancelo, he fed Mane with his pass weighted to perfection. Mane did the rest, sliding the ball under an on-rushing Ederson.
Phil Foden equalised with a well-placed finish from the angle, but the moment of the game came from Salah. The Egyptian did not disappoint.
Picking the ball up with his back to goal, on the corner of the penalty area – Salah turned. He took on numerous City players, before scoring.
A goal that was very similar to Lionel Messi’s style of running at defenders. But the confidence is flowing in Salah, his feet doing the talking.
Manchester City fans have their say on Liverpool star Salah
In the Premier League, it is rare for an opponent’s fanbase to hand one of your players praise. More so, given the rivalry between the two sides.
For the past few seasons, City and Liverpool have been the best two sides in the Premier League – even with injuries, Liverpool finished third last term.
So, for Manchester City fans to take to Twitter to praise £34million (BBC) Liverpool star Salah – says a lot about the Egyptian man.
