Manchester City fans loved what Dias had to say following question on best Portuguese defender
Manchester City fans loved what Ruben Dias had to say following a question on who is the best Portuguese defender of all time, with the 24-year-old centre-back giving himself the prestigious title.
Speaking to the Premier League’s official YouTube channel, the summer signing from SL Benfica put himself ahead of the likes of Ricardo Carvalho and Pepe as Portugal’s greatest ever defender, with Dias tipped to win the PFA Player of the Year award following an incredible debut season with City.
Signed by Pep Guardiola last year, the Portuguese international has been a defensive revelation for the Manchester-based club, with the duo of Dias and John Stones a crucial part of City’s title-winning season, with the club conceding just 29 goals so far this campaign, and supporters on social media loved what the 24-year-old defender had to say about his own abilities.
Here’s what some City fans had to say about Dias’ comments on Twitter…

Dias is set to star for Portugal this summer ahead of the 2020 EUROs, with the defender’s form likely to put the Iberian nation in a good position to win the competition.
