Manchester City fans discuss Jack Grealish display during huge 7-0 win over Leeds
Manchester City took to Twitter to heap praise on the performance of Jack Grealish, as Pep Guardiola’s men produced a stellar performance to smash Leeds United 7-0 at Etihad on Tuesday night.
Grealish, 26, had only clocked up two goals in 19 appearances for City since his British record, £100million move from Aston Villa to Manchester City in the summer. He has missed numerous chances.
But on Tuesday night, Grealish was excellent. Coming up against a side in which he has received criticism from in the past for his antics at Aston Villa, he was excellent as City outclassed Leeds by some distance.
The England star got his side’s second, scoring his first goal since the middle of September. Leeds failed to defend a corner, and Riyad Mahez’s cross was headed into the back of the net from close range by Grealish.
It came after Phil Foden opened the scoring, while Mahrez, John Stones, Nathan Ake and a Kevin De Bruyne brace saw City send a reminder to the rest of the league. A toppling performance from Guardiola’s men.
What are City fans saying about Grealish display against Leeds?
It was always going to take time for Grealish to adapt. Leaving his boyhood club and with the weight of the £100million fee on his shoulders – it will take the ex-Villa man time to cope with the pressure.
But he looked as if he is starting to get over it on Tuesday. Not only did he get a goal, but he looked more confident in his play. Passing, dribbling, decision making. Manchester City fans reacted on Twitter.
