Manchester City cruised into the Champions League quarter-finals on Wednesday night with a comfortable 2-0 win over German side Borussia Monchengladbach – and City fans have raved about midfielder Bernardo Silva.
Pep Guardiola’s side came into the match having returned to winning ways during their last two matches following the defeat to Manchester United that ended their winning streak. They beat Fulham and Southampton.
Having already secured a first-leg 2-0 win over Gladbach thanks to goals from Silva and Gabriel Jesus, City were expected to cruise past a side in the form of Gladbach that have been struggling domestically. They did just that.

Kevin De Bruyne opened the scoring in style, lashing home a brilliant first-time effort into the roof of the net from the edge of the area. A brilliant assist from Phil Foden allowed Ilkay Gundogan to make it 2-0 on 18 minutes.
The scoreline remained the same, and City eased into the last eight of the competition – a tournament that Guardiola wants to win so badly. Silva, 26, lasted 74 minutes before being replaced by Sergio Aguero.
While Silva has only managed 10 goal involvements during his 33 games this season – and went another match without a goal or an assist – City fans flocked in their drones to Twitter to praise the £150,000-a-week ace (Spotrac).
