Manchester City fans discuss Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish's display, as England beat Austria
England stumbled past Austria on Wednesday at The Riverside Stadium in what was a pretty flat performance, ahead of Euro 2020 later this month. Bukayo Saka got the only goal of the game, but it was probably Jack Grealish that was England’s best – and Man City fans are impressed.
Grealish, a nomination for the Player of the Season award after 18 goal involvements in 28 Premier League appearances, started on Tuesday. His excellent form this season was mirrored as England started well, gaining plenty of free-kick from Austrian defenders – something he is renowned for.
But England as a whole struggled, as Gareth Southgate gave a chance to numerous players not included in the 26. Arsenal teenager Saka got the only goal of the game, tapping home just before the hour mark.
Grealish remains a target for Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City this summer. The Mail claim the Premier League champions have held early talks for Grealish, with Villa requesting a figure of £100million. Little surprise, as he combined well with another City target, Harry Kane.
City fans applauded Grealish for his performance, which lasted 71 minutes. Many fans are desperate for Grealish to join Man City.
