Manchester City fans blown away by latest Phil Foden performance

Manchester City fans were left in awe after a superb performance from Phil Foden on Wednesday.

The 19-year-old was handed a rare start by Pep Guardiola against Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League, with qualification for the last 16 already sealed.

Foden has, once again, had to be patient this season with Kevin De Bruyne, David Silva, Rodri, Ilkay Gundogan and Bernardo Silva all ahead of him in the pecking order at the Etihad.

Against the Croatians though Foden was thrown in from the start – and the England U21 star produced a fantastic performance for the Citizens.

The Stockport-born teenager ran the show in central midfield, frequently breaking the lines with his passing and bursts forward.

Foden helped himself to a goal in the 84th minute – his second in the competition – which was no less than he deserved.

It was a performance that really did suggest he is ready to become a regular starter for the club.

Many City supporters online were blown away by Foden’s performance, with several urging Guardiola to take the leap of faith by putting him into the starting XI and keeping him there:
