Draw Bayern Munich in the Champions League last 16 on Monday. Throw away the lead to lose against Everton on Tuesday. See all your rivals win on Wednesday. See all your rivals win on Saturday. Throw away the lead to lose against Manchester City on Sunday. Does anyone have a time machine they can lend Arsenal Wenger?

This was never going to be an easy week for the Gunners, but after a sloppy November, as has become tradition, they have little room to afford such slip ups. Now just one point clear of Tottenham in fifth and four clear of Manchester United in sixth, Arsenal need to find form over Christmas.

Having gone from second place and Chelsea’s closest competitors to clinging on to fourth is a real disappointment, and the frustration of this week will not be anything new for Arsenal fans. Once again on Sunday they lacked leadership on the field and a quality defensive midfielder to protect the defence and the lead, but they didn’t turn up after the break.
