Queens Park Rangers manager Michael Beale has paid tribute to Tyler Roberts after signing him from Leeds United.
Beale has told QPR’s official website how pleased he is to have landed the Welsh international for his promotion bid.
He said that Roberts has his sights set on playing at the World Cup later this year with Wales, and wants to keep on improving.
Roberts of course has experience of getting out of the second tier, having done so under Marcelo Bielsa at Elland Road.

Beale hails Roberts
“Tyler is a young international with a World Cup coming. He is very hungry and he has a massive desire to show everyone what he can do,” said Beale.
“He comes here a little bit frustrated that he has not been able to show that at Leeds which can be good for QPR.
Tyler has got the best of his career in front of him even though he has done quite a lot already. There is a lot to be said about experience but what do we want?
“Do we want someone who is in their mid-30s slowing down or do we want someone who is young, hungry, wants to take on the world and really wants to play for our club? I would always choose the later. Tyler has had experience of playing in the Premier League and he has had experience of getting out of the Championship in a successful team.
“That’s the sort of experience I want. Tyler wants to come here and prove to people he is a very good player. As a coach, I will feed off that motivation. I am not here to coach motivation. I am here to work with players who are highly-motivated to improve. When I spoke with Tyler that stood out massively.
“He pushed to get this move over the line and turned down other clubs to be a QPR player. That bodes well for us. He wants to be here working and playing in our team, he is excited to be here and that is great because we will feed off that energy.”

Roberts failed to ever fully convince that he could be an effective Premier League striker, especially in Patrick Bamford’s absence through injury last season.
A return to the Championship may be what he needs to get some regular gametime and some confidence, with Rangers looking to come back to the top flight.
Beale certainly seems thrilled to have got him through the door, while Leeds embark on an exciting summer of business in the transfer market.
