Manager admits he will sell ‘incredible’ Tottenham target if huge offer arrives

Right now, Tottenham Hotspur are yet to improve Ange Postecoglou’s forward line ahead of the new season.

Yang Min-hyeok will arrive in January and hope to play a significant first team role despite only being 18-years-old, but otherwise Spurs haven’t strengthened.

TBR Football recently shared that Richarlison is keen to leave Tottenham this summer, and in truth, the club are happy to let him go too.

However, any deal that takes the Brazilian to the Saudi Pro League won’t be straightforward given Spurs’ £60m asking price is unlikely to be met.

That being said, Tottenham supporters will probably feel as if the club’s strikeforce needs added firepower regardless of whether Richarlison stays or goes.

Captain Son Heung-min is still very capable in front of goal, as he proved with his pre-season hat-trick on Wednesday.

But he needs better support, explaining why Tottenham are intensifying their interest in Pedro Neto.

And following that news, Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Gary O’Neil has just made an interesting admission.

Gary O’Neil admits that Wolves would sell Tottenham target Pedro Neto for right price

Spurs are one of a few big clubs chasing Neto this summer, interest that has clearly been noticed by the winger’s manager.

O’Neil spoke about the situation quite openly with Express and Star, and admitted that Wolves wouldn’t stand in Neto’s way if a big offer arrived from a club like Tottenham.

He shared: “I know how good he is [Neto] and how well he would do at a big club, but I want our team here to be unbelievably successful and I’m hoping he stays.

“There’s nothing going on at this moment from anybody, he’s in a good spot and I’ve spoken to him about how we’re going to play, how it suits him and the big part he’ll play in it.

“But of course, it can change really quickly if a massive bid comes in from a top club, then no-one will stand in Pedro’s way.

“It’s still my duty to him and everybody to make sure he’s ready to play for us.

“I’m confident that he will be here because we haven’t had anything that makes the club think he won’t be.

“But a lot of the business can be done late, even up to the last couple of hours, so until the window is closed there’s always a chance.”

Neto is worth the risk for Postecoglou

Although Neto has been ‘incredible’ for Wolves in the Premier League of late, any arrival in N17 would still be something of a risk.

At 24-years-old, Neto has already had to overcome several serious injuries.

The Portuguese winger, who was with his country at the Euros, suffered a serious knee injury in the 2020/21 season and then another significant ankle problem in 2022/23.

Moreover, Neto also missed around 23 games in total with hamstring issues last term – absence that is hindering his suitability for a top, top move.

Of course, given Neto’s performances on either side of these injuries and the rich potential he’s showing, a move could still be worth the risk for Postecoglou.

But interestingly, it seems as if Tottenham had a different high-profile Premier League move in mind of late.
