Manchester United are expected to have a busy summer as they look to rebuild under Ruben Amorim after a miserable season.

United have already signed Matheus Cunha from Wolves, and continue to be linked with a host of players.

One player Manchester United have been linked with is Roger Fernandes of SC Braga, a highly-rated Portuguese youngster who has been impressing in the UEFA European Under-21 Championship.

He was in action against Portugal U21s on Saturday night and despite playing just 45 minutes, he made a massive impact, contributing two assists as they beat Poland U21s 5-0.

Manchester United fans react to Roger Fernandes’ performance vs Poland U21s

Man United fans were left impressed by what they saw their transfer target do for his country.

One fan saw him as a potential replacement for Alejandro Garnacho who is set to leave Man United this summer.

Another fan was left impressed by his performance urging the club to sign him: “We need to get him ASAP.”

One more said: “We need another Fernandes in the team. Go get him!”.

A third said: “Roger Fernandes could be our Nuno Mendes, Dorgu and Amass overlap, they didn’t dribble past their man. We’ve been linked to him and I can see why. We need an old-fashioned winger, who doesn’t back out of a 1 v 1.”

One fan expressed frustration at the club not pursuing him more intently, saying: “I have zero idea why we aren’t going for him.. so so so good…”

Another saw why Ruben Amorim could be pushing to sign him: “Very comfortable operating both inside [arriving] & outside [receiving] as well. Fuels my belief that Amorim will push for more positional flexibility as time goes on.”

Alejandro Garnacho expected to leave Manchester United amid links with Chelsea

Man Utd will be eyeing a new winger as a replacement for Garnacho, whose time at the club is over.

The fallout between Garnacho and manager Ruben Amorim began after the winger was benched in the Europa League final.

Frustrated by his limited minutes, the 20-year-old openly expressed his displeasure in a post-match interview, which led to Amorim informing Garnacho to find a new club in front of his teammates.

The manager also excluded him from the squad for the season’s final league game against Aston Villa.

Chelsea are in contact with Garnacho and a move to Stamford Bridge has become more likely after Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Garnacho intends to continue playing in the Premier League.

As a result, United could turn to someone like Fernandes, who brings similar explosive qualities on the wing to fill the void.
