‘Looool’, ‘this is bad’: Some Arsenal fans shocked by what Mikel Arteta said during pre-match presser

A number of Arsenal fans have expressed shock after Mikel Arteta referred to Mesut Ozil and Matteo Guendouzi as “the other two” in Thursday’s pre-match press conference.

Ozil is yet to play a single minute for the Gunners since the restart of the Premier League season, and he was left out entirely for Arsenal’s 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa on Tuesday night.

Guendouzi, meanwhile, was frozen out at the Emirates Stadium in wake of the incident with Neal Maupay towards the end of the Gunners’ defeat at Brighton a month ago.

Arteta has repeatedly been asked about the midfield duo by reporters in recent weeks, to which he has normally divulged little.

Ahead of Arsenal’s Premier League final-day clash with Watford at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, the Spaniard was asked by Football London whether Ozil and Guendouzi are available for the game.

Arteta, also touching on Shkodran Mustafi’s fitness, said: “It’s true that Musti is injured. We need to assess a little bit how long he’s going to be out and the other two are available.”
