Real Madrid ready to make decision on Man City target who could follow Savinho to England

Manchester City were questioned about their lack of business in the summer window, with the only player they paid money for being Savinho from sister club Girona.

But Savinho has emerged as one of the signings of the summer and now TBR Football can reveal that City are considering repeating the trick.

TBR Football can confirm that City are closely following the situation surrounding another Girona player, namely Miguel Gutierrez, but his situation is a little more complicated.

Man City, Arsenal, Liverpool and Man Utd all keen on Miguel Gutierrez

TBR Football has already revealed that Arsenal are one of the club’s checking on the left-back – who has shown he can play the inverted role, which many clubs like, with ease.

TBR Football can also confirm that Manchester United and Liverpool have both checked on Gutierrez this season, but perhaps the most interesting option could be City.

City are believed to be looking at potential left-sided options heading into 2025 and Gutierrez is on their radar and is someone they kept close tabs on during their scouring of Savinho last season.

Former club Real Madrid exploring Gutierrez options

TBR Football can reveal that Gutierrez’s former club Real Madrid are closely following the situation and are set to have a huge decision to make on the left-back.

Gutierrez joined Girona from Madrid in 2022 and he has gone on to become one of the best left-backs in La Liga.

Real included a buy-back in the deal – which kicks in next summer enabling them to buy the player for just £6.6million. Real also retained 50% of his rights after allowing him to leave for just £4.1million and a January move is now looking increasingly likely. Gutierrez has a release clause worth just over £29million.

Real are considering whether they bring Gutierrez back to the club, like they did with Fran Garcia last summer when he switched back to the Santiago Bernabeu from Rayo Vallecano.

However, with Ferland Mendy agreeing a new deal at the club, and their plan to bring Alphonso Davies in from Bayern Munich along with Garcia – there appears little room for Gutierrez.

Bayern are also understood to been showing an interest in Gutierrez, who ironically could replace Davies in Germany.
