'Yesss', '100 points incoming': Some Manchester City fans react to 'beautiful' Wednesday announcement
Man City fixtures for the 2021-22 Premier League fixture list are out.
The 2020-21 champions will start the defence of their title away at Tottenham on August 14.
It could prove a dramatic opening-day match-up if Harry Kane moves to the Etihad beforehand.
Kane also spoke to Gary Neville on The Overlap and described Kevin De Bruyne as a “special player” whose deliveries are “a striker’s dream”.
Unsurprisingly, the England captain’s comments fuelled speculation regarding a move to City.
Man City fixtures – tough start on paper
After the Tottenham game, Pep Guardiola’s charges host Norwich City at the Etihad Stadium on August 21.
The following week, City host Arsenal before the September international break.
City play two more potential title challengers in the coming weeks – Chelsea on September 25 and Liverpool on October 2.
A tough start on paper, but if any team is well placed to do well, it’s Guardiola’s City.
The first Manchester derby sees City take on Manchester United at Old Trafford on 11 November.
And City’s season is then scheduled to end with a home game against Aston Villa on May 22.
