Man City fans wowed by Riyad Mahrez performance in Wolves win

Manchester City extended their remarkable winning run on Tuesday night by beating Wolverhampton Wanderers – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter were left hailing the performance of their wide man Riyad Mahrez.

Man City secured a 4-1 victory over Wolves at the Etihad Stadium, which means they have now won 21 games in succession across all competitions.

Pep Guardiola’s side are 15 points clear at the top of the Premier League table after Tuesday night’s win and the signs right now are that they are steaming towards the title.

An own goal from Leander Dendoncker put Man City in front in a first half they dominated, but Wolves captain Conor Coady levelled to make it 1-1 on the hour mark.

The hosts did wrap up three points though with late goals from Gabriel Jesus (two) and Mahrez.

A selection of Man City supporters on social media felt that Mahrez was their standout individual.

Mahrez, 30, scored his team’s third goal in the 90th minute with a composed left-footed finish in the box and looked an attacking threat all game.

The £60million (BBC) right-winger has strangely had critics at various points due to a lack of end product, but he bamboozled the Wolves defence and is up to eight goals for the season in all competitions.
