Manchester City have reportedly joined the race to sign Sheffield United midfielder Sander Berge this summer with the Norwegian expected to leave Bramall Lane – City supporters have reacted on Twitter, urging their club to sign Berge.
Berge, 23, joined Sheffield United in January 2020 and made an indifferent start to life at Bramall Lane. However, he has slowly improved, right up until the moment the Norway star was ruled out in December – undergoing hamstring surgery.
The Blades are set to be relegated this season, sitting 15 points adrift and rock bottom of the Premier League with eight games to play. Chris Wilder has left, and Paul Heckingbottom is currently caretaker boss until the end of the current campaign.

Plenty are likely to leave. Berge is one of those, and Voetbal24 claim Manchester City want to sign him as a replacement for Fernandinho. It comes after Jeunes Footeux recently claimed both North London clubs, Tottenham and Arsenal, were keen.
Meanwhile, Eurosport have also recently suggested that Liverpool and Aston Villa may pursue a move for Berge. Clearly, there are going to be plenty of clubs interested in his services – but City fans want their club to win the race for Erling Haaland’s national teammate.
It remains to be seen how much he would cost, but Sheffield United are likely to look for a profit on a player they signed for £20.5million – as per Jeunes Footeux.
