Malachi Fagan-Walcott says one Spurs star is so quick, you can’t get the ball off him in training

Tottenham Hotspur academy ace Malachi Fagan-Walcott has waxed lyrical about Spurs star Tanguy Ndombele, in conversation with the Evening Telegraph.

The 24-year-old is in great form at present, his maiden-season issues at Tottenham now a distant memory.

Ndombele has made 28 appearances in all competitions this season, including 19 in the Premier League, and is playing the full 90 minutes more often.

Fagan-Walcott, who joined Scottish side Dundee on loan last week, gave an insight into what it’s like to train with Tottenham’s first team.

“Training with Spurs is incredible because it’s on a different level to what I’d been used to,” he told the Evening Telegraph.

“The intensity, concentration and technique is much higher than it is when you’re with the Under-23s.”

When asked about the best players in Spurs training, Fagan-Walcott replied: “It’s difficult because they are all good, but Tanguy Ndombele is technically so good.

“You think you can get the ball off him but you can’t, he’s so quick.

“They are all good, big, strong and have great ability. You learn from training with players like that but I think I’ll learn more here at Dundee in the next few months.”

Massive credit to Mourinho for having kept the faith in Ndombele and working hard with him, as he is now looking much improved.

Unfortunately, he flattered to deceive against Chelsea in midweek, but he wasn’t the only one who was off form on the day.

That said, Ndombele has shown he’s got what it takes to shine at the top level and hopefully he can help Spurs get out of this rut.
