Malachi Fagan-Walcott names ex-Tottenham youngster Luis Binks his dream centre-back partner
Tottenham youngster Malachi Fagan-Walcott has named former teammate Luis Binks as his dream centre-back partner on his Instagram story.
Fagan-Walcott, 18, is a highly-rated defender to come through the youth system at Spurs and is being tipped for a bright future.
The English centre-back was handed his first-team debut last season with a late cameo in the Champions League and will be hoping he can force his way into the senior plans of manager Jose Mourinho.
Binks previously came through the Spurs academy with Fagan-Walcott and he ended up leaving the club on a permanent basis in February during last season.
The 19-year-old centre-back is playing his football in the MLS with Montreal Impact, but is owned by Italian club Bologna.
He’s already enjoying regular first-team football in the heart of defence for Montreal Impact, but Fagan-Walcott has admitted he’d love to play alongside the ex-Spurs man in the future.
Spurs have had some talented individuals developed in their academy in recent times and the North London club continue to produce rising stars, with Fagan-Walcott hoping he can follow in the footsteps of others.
Japhet Tanganga is one academy graduate that was drafted into the first-team last season by Mourinho and there is a genuine path into the senior team if you are good enough.
Senior defender Toby Alderweireld is still performing in the Spurs XI, but the club do need to consider finding a long-term replacement for him and need to find a settled centre-back pairing.
