‘Makes zero sense’ – Liverpool fans unimpressed by rumours linking Max Kruse with Anfield move

Max Kruse is leaving Werder Bremen.

According to German media outlet Sport1, Liverpool are eyeing the possibility of signing Max Kruse on a free transfer.

Liverpool and Bayern Munich will compete for the veteran striker, who is set to leave Werder Bremen when his contract expires this summer.

Kruse will become a free agent and Liverpool are weighing up their options. Jurgen Klopp knows the Bundesliga well and will be aware of Kruse’s qualities.

The 31-year-old scored 12 goals and provided 14 assists last season. This takes his overall Werder Bremen tally to 35 goals and 31 assists.

Kruse has spent his whole career in Germany. He has represented St Pauli, Freiburg, Borussia Monchengladbach and Wolfsburg.

But Liverpool might offer him the chance to finally test himself elsewhere. The 14-cap Germany international could move to England.

Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge is likely to leave this summer. This means that Kruse could take his place as the back-up striker for the Reds.

After reports emerged linking Kruse with Liverpool, many fans of the Merseyside club had their say on Twitter. Here are the best tweets.
