Tottenham Hotspur fans are hopeful that they will be able to land Mauricio Pochettino, following France’s exit from Euro 2020 last night.
The Sun reported that Tottenham could still appoint Pochettino, if PSG make a move for Didier Deschamps.
France were dumped out of Euro 2020 on penalties last night by Switzerland, leading to suggestions that Deschamps could go.
If he does exit, it would hardly be a surprise if PSG made a move – given he is a manager that they clearly admire.
And Tottenham fans believe that things may be panning out just as they had hoped.
Worth the wait
The fact that Tottenham are still looking for a new manager could now actually play into their hands.
Daniel Levy can hardly be credited for the way Tottenham’s managerial search has gone, but it may now be worth waiting to see what develops with Deschamps.
Pochettino clearly would be an appealing target for Spurs, as he fits the mould of exactly what Levy said that he was looking for.
Pochettino’s arrival would also give Tottenham fans a happy ending to what has been a ridiculous managerial search.
Spurs have missed out on numerous candidates and are now risking not having a manager in place for the start of pre-season, but if Pochettino was to arrive then the wait would all have been worthwhile.
