Nottingham Forest and Manchester United lock horns at the City Ground in Saturday’s late Premier League kickoff.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s Reds and Erik ten Hag’s Red Devils go into the game on the back of solid wins on Boxing Day.

Forest stunned Newcastle at St James’ Park with a 3-1 win, Chris Wood netting a hat-trick on his return to Tyneside.

Meanwhile, Man United came from two goals down to claim a 3-2 win against Aston Villa at Old Trafford.

Alejandro Garnacho scored a brace, while Rasmus Hojlund opened his league account for the Red Devils with the winner.

‘I really don’t know what to expect here’

Chris Sutton, writing on BBC Sport, admits the game at NG2 is particularly hard to call.

Nonetheless, he feels Man United will have enough to get the better of Forest in a 2-1 win.

“I really don’t know what to expect here,” began the pundit.

“Manchester United were phenomenal in their second-half comeback to beat Villa, and I was really pleased to see Rasmus Hojlund get off the mark in the Premier League.

“As for Nottingham Forest, I don’t know where their brilliant win at Newcastle or Chris Wood’s hat-trick came from.

“What will both teams do next? I am going to go with United to maintain their momentum, but I can’t say I am totally sure.”

Nottingham Forest v Manchester United team news

In terms of team news, Forest will be without midfielder Ibrahim Sangare, who is suspended after accumulating five yellow cards, but Willy Boly returns from a ban.

Serge Aurier, Felipe and Taiwo Awoniyi are still out, but Nuno has no new injury concerns.

Meanwhile, Manchester United are again likely to be without Luke Shaw, Sofyan Amrabat and Anthony Martial.

The Red Devils have a host of other players out, including Casemiro, Harry Maguire, Tyrell Malacia, Lisandro Martinez, Mason Mount and Victor Lindelof.

Nottingham Forest have what it takes to get a point against Manchester United – TBR View

It’s definitely a hard game to call. Forest may have had their struggles this season, but their win at Newcastle certainly showed what they’re capable of.

Likewise, Man United have been far from perfect for much of the campaign, but they showed great character to come back from two down against an in-form Villa side.

I think Forest have enough to get at least a point against the Red Devils. I’ll go with a 1-1 draw.
