Spurs midfielder Tanguy Ndombele is a highly rated player who Jose Mourinho deemed “magnificent” in January.

However, the Tottenham record signing is once again facing an uncertain future at N17.

After a difficult first season in north London, Ndombele emerged as a regular starter under Mourinho last term.

However, the 24-year-old dropped back to the bench under Ryan Mason and has been out of contention under Nuno.

Indeed, Ndombele hasn’t made a single matchday squad this season, and was reportedly close to leaving in summer.

However, there are some signs that Nuno may be planning to reinstate Ndombele to the squad.

When Spurs submitted their Europa Conference League squad list, Ndombele was included.

And now, with one midfielder ruled out for this weekend’s Premier League return and another a doubt, Ndombele could benefit.

Oliver Skipp limped off late in England Under-21’s win over Kosovo at Milton Keynes on Tuesday.

It remains to be seen whether he’ll be fit to feature away at Crystal Palace on Saturday.

And Giovani Lo Celso is obviously not going to be able to play as he’s in Croatia following his return from South America.

Therefore, if ever there was a time to bring Ndombele back to the fold, this weekend is surely it.
